The Business of Gymnastics “Changing the Culture”
A Gymnastics Club Management and Marketing Program
As part of its mission, Gymnastics Canada aspires to ensure long term-term financial viability and effective delivery and management of the sport in Canada. The federation envisions a future where quality standards are developed and promoted to better position the Canadian brand of gymnastics. The Business of Gymnastics Program has the potential to change the operational culture of clubs and to bring them closer to meet current and future challenges. Long term, this means a stronger network of clubs providing quality gymnastics programming, which in turn fosters the growth and development of the sport of gymnastics in Canada.
Key objectives for the Business of Gymnastics Program:
• To improve the operations of member clubs
• To improve club decision-making
• To assist clubs to become fiscally responsible
• To provide a format that provides new operational, marketing and management tools for member clubs.
Resources and a series of workshops have been developed that introduce clubs to the Business of Gymnastics best practices and business planning. Facilitators have been trained to deliver the Program across Canada.
